After graduating from Kitsilano Secondary School, Nat wrote in his high school annual that he would one day be opening up his own Italian pizza shop. Believe it or not, his dream became a reality.

In 1991, cousins Nat and Franco traveled to Yonkers, New York to learn their 100-year old family recipes behind hand-tossed pizza and their secret sauce.

 

The pair returned to Vancouver and proudly introduced their family's thin-crust-style pizza to the Kitsilano neighbourhood in 1992. In January of 2000, the Bastone's opened their second location in Vancouver's West End to expand their reach in the city.

Now with over 30 years in business, Nat & Franco's dedication, consistency, and love for making people happy, has grown their establishment to holding an esteemed reputation through their loyal customers and community.    

John joined the team at the very beginning. His driven nature lead him to learning every aspect of the business, and 8 years later (January 2000), opened the second Nat's New York Pizzeria location on Denman Street in Vancouver's West End neighbourhood.

John's wife, Patti joined the team soon after opening. Together, the dynamic duo have been serving love, joy and outstanding food to Vancouver's downtown community for over 23 years! 

At Nat's, it's always been about the kids (adults are kids, too!).

With our Broadway location so close to Kitsilano High School, we serve the students daily and have fed at least 10,000+ graduates over the years! Some, of course, are now famous. Ryan Reynolds and Joshua Jackson hung out at Nat's long before they skyrocketed to stardom.

In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ryan Reynolds bought a large pizza for every graduating student and faculty member at Kitsilano as a graduation gift.
